I've had a look and yes, it looks like more friction. Just how much, i'm not sure. I await the verdict of trade experts! And then the actual data, once these controls are in place.

Hi Chris & Jim. Point worth noting on Irish agri exports to UK, exports have stood up well but UK’s SPS border with Ireland is not yet in place.
Keep your eye out for the next version of UK border model which is due any day now.
Once this in place Irish agri/food exports to GB will be far more complex. Until now the UKs border with Ireland has been very light touch.
Border already fully implemented with mainland Europe so comparison with their trade levels before and after would be instructive.
