Keeping my 2009 Diesel Toyota for as long as it lasts!
If the government wants to cut emissions they should focus on upgrading public transport with a view to a reduction in car journeys. Trying to move everybody away from petrol and diesel to electric isn't practical and it is questionable as to how environmentally friendly EVs are (battery materials).
I live in Carrick on shannon. For a small place we're reasonably well served with buses and trains to Dublin and Sligo but not enough. The train takes too long as it's only single track between Sligo Maynooth so we have a lot of delays waiting for the train going the opposite direction to pass. As for places that are not on the Sligo-Dubin train or bus route you can forget it. Even places like Athlone and Galway and Knock Airport which are all in Connaught you have to drive.
Hi lads- UK government set to further delay the Target Operating Model! They’re worried by inflation. Good News for Irish food exporting business in run in to Christmas.

Extensive public transport infrastructure, much more than we have now, is absolutely required.
