Thanks Deirdre. I need an editor! It’s fixed on the website but the original email will forever contain the typo. I’m glad at least one person read it!

Hi, I've greatly enjoyed your podcasts over the last year ir so.

I'd like to ask a question: How much of the discussed growth in irish exports was a result of inflation (increase in input costs being passed on) vrs a growth in absolute volumes?

Great question. In effect, if prices are put up our exports also gone up in monetary terms but not necessarily in volumes of widgets being sold or profit margins going up.

I suppose a better way to analyse this is to adjust the growth in exports to express it in real terms.

Great show you have. Thanks for all the positive explainers on the Irish economy.

Would you ever have guests? You often quote great journalist like John Burn-Murdock.

Have you ever considered getting him or others on your show?

Thanks.

We have had occasional guests. Decent ones are hard to find. They are often embedded in their own media organisations. We have 2 lined up for the next couple of weeks, fingers crossed!

Thanks for your kind words - we always ask anyone who says they like the show to tell their friends :). It helps a lot.
